Company Introduction
STARGATE ENTERPRISE CORPORATION (SEC) is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since January 25, 1999. The company was initially set-up as a trading company of fresh tropical fruits intended for local and foreign market. In 2005, it started its food processing activity, particularly in the pproduction of dried mangoes, dried pineapple and other fruits, thus the construction of the processing plant. It registered the brand name SUNSFRU, its trademark, with the Intellectual Property Office.
STARGATE ENTERPRISE CORPORATION is part of companies under the administration of the Sunsfire Management Company. Like spokes in an umbrella, the companies operate autonomous of each other but at the same time enjoy the support of all seven (7) other companies as follows:
1) Pluto MPC was organized and registered with the Cooperative Development Authorities (CDA) in October 30, 2006. It took over the business of Zepplelin Factors (ZIFC) which was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in January 1986. Zifc's activities were largely cargo handling in the ports of Mindanao and the Visayas. Its main activity was as bagger of bulk ferilizer which were imported by fertilizer importers in Davao, General Santos and Cagayan de Oro. It had become the parent company of the parent company of the companies that were organized, subsequently. There was a change in the company's mind-set with regard to its company set up that the management decided to retire it and organized PLUTO MPC.
2) LEXIS A-BAF CORPORATION was organized and developed as the support company for ZIFC
It handled the customs brokerage and shipping related activities, such as clearing imported cargoes and shipping agent of the vessels loaded with cargoes of the clients of ZIFC. The group is now assisting the export activity of Stargate Enterprise Corporation in its export business. Although the customs brokerage section of Lexis became the E. D. Dacquilos CUSTOMS BROKERAGE in 2006 when the government regulations required registering the licensed broker itself as the name of the company.
3) As the company expanded and needed more people in its work force, it became necessary to create a Human Resource Division to manage, recruit, facilitate the hiring and supervise the overall conduct of all its personnel. It found it fit to create a personnel-pooling company to handle its own personnel requirement as well as its clients which needed its services to manage and administer their own staff requirements. This is the NEO-PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION.
4) In the course of the business of Lexis-A BAF Corporation, an opportunity came our way to handle transshipment of logs to China and India from Papua New Guinea. This was integrated activity involving vessel agency, stevedoring and arrastre and cutoms brokerage. Because of the nature of the business, it became necessary to do this in Mati City, Davao Oriental, almost 200km away from Davao City. We had to operate the local wharf there, thus the creation of the EASTERN PACIFIC ARRASTRE AND STEVEDORING CORPORATION (EPASCOR) . It is now regularly servicing the service requirements of a multi-national company, Cargill Philippines, Incorporated. It hopes to encourage the reopening of the inter-island vessels operation in that city.
5) The desire of the company to extend help to small business impelled itself to engage in a micro-lending activity to small business in Mati and Davao Cities. The SUNSFIRE MICROLENDING CORPORATION was organized in 2006, extend loans in small amounts to neighborhood stores.
