Company Introduction

Industrial Informatics, Inc. is an automation systems integration specialist capable of multi-vendor integration of hardware and software, design and installation of manufacturing execution systems (MES), SCADA system design and installation, process design and control, and implementation of database driven manufacturing systems. The company has experience in quality assurance systems and order entry systems and offers hands-on technical training focused on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for PLC controlled systems.

Michael Batchelor's primary technical background is process control systems, having moved from the US Navy nuclear submarine program into commercial nuclear power electric generating plant startup in early 1982. As commercial nuclear plant opportunities faded from the US market in the late 1980's, he moved on to other contract engineering integration and startup opportunities, eventually founding Industrial Informatics in the early '90s. Industrial Informatics, Inc. was originally founded as Industrial Informatics and Instrumentation, Inc. in 1993, and has the same principal owner throughout that period. Over the years, as technology has changed, Michael's experience has broadened to include industrial and manufacturing data system design and implementation, as well as significant experience with QA system testing and reporting requirements for regulatory compliance.

Timothy Strunck, Industrial Informatics, Inc.'s primary field implementation engineer, has been with Industrial Informatics, Inc. since 2002. Prior to Industrial Informatics he worked for Cisco Systems designing new product test equipment for their QA labs, Square-D Automation as a Sales Support Engineer, Belka Engineering designing electrical power distribution systems for commercial buildings, and Hubbell Power Systems as a service engineer. In those years he has extensive experience with multiple control platforms and applications, including; Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Koyo plcs; LabView, WonderWare, Intellution, CiTect, and RSView computer based HMI products; substantial programming experience with Microsoft Visual Studio tools; Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL Server, and PostgreSQL data servers; water and wastewater systems, waste stream oil and protein recovery systems, and automotive component assembly cell automation.

Ronald Beaufort, Industrial Informatics Inc.'s PLC training instructor, has been working with students for the past 18 years. He started his training career as the Automation Lab instructor for Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC after closing his industrial service business for health reasons. Subsequent to TTC he taught Allen Bradley PLC classes for the local Allen Bradley distributor until Rockwell took over the training. Since that time we bought the entire training lab from the distributor and he has been working with Industrial Informatics, Inc.
