Cinnamon Cultivators Association (CinCA) CinCA, formed in 2006 with the collaboration of 51 small-scale Cinnamon farmer societies at rural level in Galledistrict. The Department of Export Agriculture from year 2004 established these small farmer societies. In 2007, the number of rural cinnamon societies had increased up to 63. All these small-scale societies and the CinCA has been registered in the Department of Export Agriculture by issuing a membership certificate with a registration number.
Every year the number of member societies at rural level is increasing. At present CinCA has near 5000 members. Majority of members are small-scale cinnamon farmers who have less than 1 hectare of cinnamon cultivations. Cinca has an executive committee selected by the members, including two nominated officers of Department of Export Agriculture. Assistant Director Department of Export Agriculture in Galle district is the advisor. Cinca has its own constitution, which provides guidelines to the activities carried out by CinCA.
